RSV Vaccination
Posted on:
RSV is a significant cause of respiratory illness, particularly dangerous for infants and the elderly. It can lead to severe conditions like pneumonia and bronchiolitis, sometimes requiring hospitalisation.
The new RSV vaccine offers a vital opportunity to prevent severe illness in those most vulnerable, helping to protect lives and ease winter pressures on the NHS.
We strongly encourage women who are 28 weeks pregnant or more to speak to their maternity service or GP to ensure their baby is protected. Additionally, those aged 75 to 79 should come forward for their vaccine when invited from September.
